Virginia's Official Opera Company is thrilled to present a season packed with hit Italian operas in 2008-2009, featuring world-class performances of what are considered to be among the most popular works ever composed by Verdi, Donizetti, Puccini and Rossini. Join us this season at the Edythe C. and Stanley L. Harrison Opera House in Norfolk, the Landmark Theater in Richmond, or George Mason University's Center for the Arts in Fairfax.

The largest of its kind in the nation, Virginia Opera's Education and Outreach Program touched the lives of more than 200,000 students and community members across Virginia in this past year. According to Opera America, the program reaches more students in the classroom than any other opera company in the United States.
In-School Touring Program: This nationally recognized program is the cornerstone of our education and outreach efforts, featuring our acclaimed Spectrum Resident Artists, who tour every year to bring opera programs to schools and communities throughout Virginia.
Student Night at the Opera: These special nights allow students in Norfolk to experience their own evenings at the opera, giving them a chance to discover the joy of opera at a reduced ticket price.
Student Matinee: Much like the Student Night at the Opera performances, our Student Matinees allow students to attend special matinee performances for an extremely affordable price.
Open yourself up to a host of exciting new opportunities to become acquainted with people who not only share your interest in opera, but in a variety of other interests, as well
Virginia Opera Guild members help support Virginia Opera by sharing their appreciation of opera with one another by attending social events, sponsoring fundraising events that benefit Virginia Opera, and exploring the world of opera....read more
