The mission and work of Rogue Opera are accomplished through the efforts of a devoted and talented group of people, composed of both paid staff and uncompensated volunteers:
Staff - Our staff includes an Artistic Director, a Development Director, Development Consultant an Office Manager and Administrative Assistants in addition to multiple short term contracted personnel employed for productions and publications.
Volunteers - Our volunteers include twelve Board Members, and over twenty plus community members.
Discover Rogue Opera Tours: Monthly one hour talks with audio visual program in Medford at noon in our offices, and in Ashland at noon at SOU Music Department. Light lunch is free with an RSVP! Call our office for upcoming dates!
November 10 & 11, 2007 Complete Singer Training Series in Collaboration with Southern Oregon University Department of Music: Ann Baltz from OperaWorks in Los Angeles will return for a weekend workshop in October for professional and pre-professional singers to train the complete singer/actor. SOU students are allowed to participate at no charge.
October 2007 to February 2008 Opera in the Schools "OperAntics" will be performed 100+ times for over 19,000 students!
December 5 Operafest Luncheon, our annual fund raising luncheon at the Ashland Springs Hotel.
January to March Opera Workshop in Collaboration with Southern Oregon University Department of Music: Our 3rd annual free 9-week training program for professional and pre-professional singers will continue. SOU students may apply for college credit.

Voices from the Valley - Opera Scenes Concerts: Concerts March 7, 8:00 pm at SOU Recital Hall in Ashland and March 9, 3:00 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Medford with the best scenes from beloved operas, featuring participants from "Opera Workshop in collaboration with Southern Oregon University Department of Music."

The Merry Wives of Windsor by Otto Nicolai is a delightful comic opera based on the Shakespeare play. To be presented April 25 and 27 at SOU Recital Hall, May 2 at Grants Pass Performing Arts Center and May 4 at the Ginger Rogers Craterian Theater!

(During The Merry Wives of Windsor) Tickets for Youth: As part of our outreach to the community, we provide free tickets to productions and concerts for youth through their schools and community organizations (250 tickets donated annually). Behind the Scenes Youth Mentoring Program allows high school and college students to participate as chorus members, or to apply to work with Rogue Opera's professionals behind the scenes during The Merry Wives of Windsor. This program is free for participants and SOU students may apply for college credit. In exchange for their participation, Rogue Opera gives a Scholarship to SOU Department of Music for promising voice students.
Rogue Opera's Development Committee meets monthly at Rogue Opera Administrative Offices Conference Room for lunch (provided). Under the supervision of the Development Director, the Development Committee helps with events and managing activities related to the analysis, planning, execution, control and evaluation of fund raising and selected public relations programs that support the overall mission of Rogue Opera and its programs.
We are always looking for new volunteers to join the Development Committee. Call 608-6400 if you are interested in joining us!
